I found pictures in 1948 and 1964 editions of the Scout handbook that show the Yucca tied in different ways but couldn't find mention of an official knot. I usually tie mine in a bow because it's easier to open but it seems any knot you like will work. Though on a longer hike some sort of hitch is good so your pack doesn't come open on the trail. Do you know if there was an official knot that all scouts used on their Yucca packs? The Almost Green Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06176635076710680035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5397166274888769721.post-84639944569295468662015-01-14T18:31:30.791-08:002015-01-14T18:31:30.791-08:00Wasn't sure if you saw this post and thought I...Wasn't sure if you saw this post and thought I would put a link here in the comments. I looked at a bunch of things to figure out the straps on different models. Pretty interesting in a near embarrassingly otaku kind of way.

http://icollecthobbies.blogspot.com/2014/11/yucca-packs-and-packboards.htmlJT Barnharthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07373816564984829281noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5397166274888769721.post-66595533429850077902014-10-15T11:50:03.877-07:002014-10-15T11:50:03.877-07:00Thank you so much! I'll give mine a look and take some photos and look at my Scout field books and handbook to see if they show anything. I haven't used one with a frame in a while and can't remember off the top of my head how I managed it. Will try to make a post about it and get it up soon. I removed the frame and don't know how to attach the straps from the frame to the bag itself. If you could help me out that would be great! Thanks!
